Fast Training For Trentham Events
••The Press” Special Service AUCKLAND. While High Glee scorched over half a mile at Te Aroha on Saturday, two other northern candidates for the Wellington tutumn meeting, Star Belie and Fair Account, galloped six furlongs on the Whiriwhiri course, near Waiuku. Ridden by G. L. Willets, High Glee was travelling comfortably alongside Fariman (C. E. Underhill) at the end of half a mile against the rails in 47 l-ssec —a fine gallop. High Glee, the winner of eight races from 15 starts, and the holder of the Australian and New Zealand six-furlong record, looked in grand order. High Glee has been nominated for the North Island Challenge Stakes and the Railway Handicap at Trentham. Star Belle (Miss Watson) and Fair. Account (Miss Allen) did their gallop at the Waiuku Racing Club s non-totalisator meeting. They went easily at first
and quickened over the last atx furlongs. Star Belle, the leading three-year-old, shaded her stablemate at the finish. Star Belie, the winner of eight races this season and £12,775 in stakes, has the New Zealand St. Leger as her main mission at Trentham. As a preliminary she will probably contest the Challenge Stakes on the first day. Fair Account will also run in the St. Leger. Beforehand, he may contest the Franklin Cup.
