Housewives’ Call
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) AUCKLAND, Feb. 26. Housewives at a rally in Myers Park, Auckland, today called on the Government to investigate rising prices. The women also endorsed the aims of the Campaign Against Rising Prices movement and agreed to boycott cakes, biscuits, sweets and the products of a firm of soap manufacturers. The president of C.A.R.P., Mrs F. A. Humphries, said the Government and not C.A.R.P. was to blame if any small bakeries were put out of business and she invited the small firms to get behind C.A.R.P. Mrs Humphries said she believed there were bakeries that had not increased prices and it might be possible to help these firms with a sign indicating approval by C.A.R.P.
