FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—A ridge of high pressure lies across the North Island while a weak cold front is advancing over Otago. Canterbury.—Moderate southerly winds tending easterly; cloudy with some scattered light rain at first but becoming partly cloudy and mild. Marlborough and Nelson.—Moderate variable winds tending southerly; partly cloudy and mild. Buller and Westland.—Moderate variable winds; cloudy and mild with scattered light rain. Outlook.—All districts: partly cloudy.
