NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Paul Maurice Halliwell, trading as Halliwell’s Baby Shop, 78 Seaview road, New Brighton, will apply to the Shops and Offices Exemptions Tribunal sitting in the Number 5 Courtroom at Christchurch on Friday, the 3rd day of February, 1967, at 10 a.m., for exemption from the provisions of the New Zealand (except Northern and Taranaki Industrial Districts) General Retail Shop Assistants Award. The applicant seeks partial exemption from the closing provisions of the Shops and Offices Act, 1955, by providing that the shop shall be closed on Wednesday and shall be permitted to open on Saturday between the hours of 8.15 a.m. and 9 p.m. The grounds of the application are that these are the normal hours of business in New Brighton and that the applicant will thereby be enabled to render a service to the public.

While this order is in force no' person shall set on fire or cause to be set on fire in the open air any trees or timber, bracken, gorse, broom, lupins, grass, stubble or other plants or debris from forest or land clearing operations, or any other combustible material whatsoever, except pursuant to a written permit. INCINERATOR FIRES Written permits are also required for the use of outside incinerators in built up areas. Applications for all such permits should be made to Mr G. Elliott.
