Marshal Ky’s Visit
Sir, —I was handed a pamphlet abusing Marshal Ky and South Vietnam generally the other night in town. The young woman distributing the papers was a university student If students, in particular, and others, in general, are overflowing with compassion for suffering, why are institutions and hospitals in New Zealand and throughout the world desperate for staff? How many students are studying for any other reason but their own advancement? Most people look after Number One, very few sacrifice anything for others, and I’ll wager the demonstrators don’t give two hoots for any suffering but their own.—Yours, etc..
