Over The Boundary
The splendid timing and strength which J. R. Veitch brought to his shots produced almost a century in boundaries for the West ChristchurchUniversity left-hand batsman in the match against Sydenham. Veitch, a former Otago and Canterbury Plunket Shield player, scored 107 runs in the match, and 98 of them came from boundaries. In his first Innings score of 63 he hit 11 fours and two sixes. There were five sixes and three fours in his second innings of 44.
