Mercy-Killing Alleged

A 48-year-old • civil servant had admitted killing his wife because she had incurable cancer, a North London Court was told yesterday. The prosecutor said that after Albert John Sexton was arrested he said: “I killed her because she had an incurable cancer. I could not bear to see her suffer.” A post-mortem examination revealed severe cancer of the chest and 20 cuts to the head. Sexton was committed for trial at the Old Bailey.
