Cup To Humber At Ashhurst Meeting

(N.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH. Humber won the AshhurstPohangina Cup at the Ashhurst Racing Club’s meeting at Awapuni yesterday. Humber made most of the pace but was headed by Laramie, which had trailed him, soon after turning for home.

Laramie led inside the furlong but Humber came again and caught him in the last stride. Damar, which did not get clear until late, was a good third ahead of Tarim and Supa. Grazioso finished strongly to win the Pohangina Handicap right on the post from Shut, with Might, which was six lengths clear on the turn, weakening to a close third just ahead of Grapevine and the favourite, Plantation. • The Humber-Grazioso double pm £J43 15s fid.
