FERRYMEAD QUEEN
Junior Chamber chapters, hotels, the Addington Railway Workshops, banks, insurance companies, and local factories were choosing candidates for the title of “Queen of Ferrymead,” said Mr F. A. Betts, director of the Ferrymead queen carnival campaign. Collection of funds would begin on March 18, and the candidate who had the biggest balance to her credit would be crowned queen. A programme of events had been arranged which would lead to the coronation and presentation of prizes at a public function in Christchurch early in Maj.
