THE ROYAL CHIMNEYS
Official Sweep Appointed (N.Z.P. A.-Reuter —Copyright) WINDSOR, Jan. 22. A battered grey chimneysweep’s van will shortly be touring Windsor with the Royal coat of arms on its sides. A former policeman, Walter Gamble, aged 48, plans tn paint the arms on the van after his appointment as Queen Elizabeth’s official chimney sweep for Windsor Castle. He has been granted a Royal warrant after three years’ work on the Royal chimneys, thus joining the select band of British tradesmen entitled to display the words, “By appointment to Her Majesty the Queen” and the Royal arms alongside their names.
