fW_Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) NEW DELHI, Jan. 23. Guards opened fire yesterday on rioting inmates of a prison at Lucknow, 300 miles north-west of New Delhi. Two prisoners, the gaol’s Assistant Superintendent and two guards were reported injured. Officials said the trouble started when prisoners began throwing stones at guards when they were marched from their cells to breakfast. The prisoners were protesting alleged mistreatment of an inmate.
