YOUNG MEN’S SHOE STYLES
City Firm Probes Market In reply to a recent query about forecasting young men’s shoe style trends, Mr Len Suckling, of the Sucklings Men’s Shoe Store, had this to say: “In these days of quick changes it is practically impossible to forecast accurately what is going to be TN* with young men,” said Mr Suckling, “but as we are speciallists young men naturally expect us to give a lead—this we do by continually probing the market for newest trends and buying many small test quantities—then if a line ‘takes on’ we buy more heavily. This is the only really reliable method as new styles that are ‘winners” elsewhere often make no impression whatsoever. “We value our many young men customers and find their enthusiasm for new ideas both stimulating and challenging,” added Mr Suckling. Dedicated to cheerful, courteous service, the Sucklings Men’s Shoe Store is at 627 Colombo street (near corner of Tuam street).—P.B.A.
