Young School Inspector
The youngest teacher to be appointed full time to the secondary inspectorate in New Zealand, Mr R. K. Graham, of Dunedin, will take up his post in Christchurch this week as inspector for the South Island in English and Latin. Aged 36, Mr Graham is well known in Dunedin as an amateur actor, and has also produced plays in both Dunedin and the United States. Mr Graham has been head of the English department at King’s High School, Dunedin, since 1963. He gained his M.A. with honours in English language and literature at the University of Otago and trained as a teacher at the Dunedin Teachers’ College.
In 1956 Mr Graham went to the United States on a Fulbright Scholarship and gained an M.A. with honours in linguistics at the University of Michigan.
