RACE FOR FIDELIS
(N.Z. Press Association) WHANGAREI. The 61ft sloop Fidelis, linehonours winner of the Syd-ney-Hobart ocean yacht race, will enter the Onerahi Yacht Club’s race to Noumea in April, said her ownerskipper, Mr J. V. Davern, yesterday. The Fidelis arrived off the Whangaroa heads at 12.25 p.m. on Thursday, and, after a “flying the flag” run up harbour, tied up at the Angaroa Wharf. She was given a welcome described by Mr Davern as being equal to the Hobart reception.
