Some Cases Of Bloat
(N.Z. Press Association) TAURANGA, Jan. 13. Sporadic cases of bloat in dairy cows were being reported in the Western Bay of Plenty, but there was no evidence of a widespread outbreak, said Mr M. B. Mackenzie, livestock inspector of the Department of Agriculture, Tauranga. The unusual weather had caused a rapid growth of clover in the pastures but careful management and drying winds had prevented stock from being bloated. The veterinary department of the Tauranga Cooperative Dairy Association reported only one serious case during the last week.
