ACCIDENT NEAR APPROACH TO ROAD TUNNEL.—Officers of the Christ-church-Lyttelton Road Tunnel Authority inspecting the wreckage of a car which ran off the motorway at the Heathcote approach to the tunnel about 5 a.m. yesterday. The driver, John Phillips, of Rapaki, was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital. His condition was described late yesterday as being fairly comfortable.
