Daughter Of Lord Cobham Married
(London Correspondent of “The Prete’9 LONDON, January 14. The Hon. Elizabeth Catherine Lyttelton, second daughter of Lord and Lady Cobham, was married today at the Parish Church of St. John the Baptist, Hagley, Worcestershire, to the Hon. George Cecil Brook Weld-Forester, only son of Lord and Lady Forester, of Willey Park, Broseley, Shropshire.
The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a white moire classical gown, its floating lines ending in a long, impressive train. The billowing full-length bridal veil was held in place
by a period diamond tiara—an heirloom of the groom’s family—and she carried a bouquet of lilies. Her five bridesmaids—including her sister Juliet and the twins Lucy and Sarah—were dressed in deep cherry red floorlength velvet gowns and wore simple fresh-flower head-dresses.
A number of the bride’s New Zealand school friends, who are at present in England, attended the wedding. At the reception at Hagley Hall, Lord Cobham’s family seat in Worcestershire, the bride’s health was proposed by Lord Bradford, who also proposed the health of Lord and Lady Cobham at their wedding 25 years ago. After a honeymoon abroad the couple will live in a house on the estate of the groom’s parents at Willey Park.
