SMITHFIELD MARKET
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, January 6. There was a good inquiry for most commodities on Smithfield market, London, this week, which resulted in generally steady prices, reports the Meat Board. Supplies of home-killed and imported fresh meat declined. New Zealand lamb sold steadily, with little change in price. There were light pitchings of New Zealand mutton. The main grades of hogget (49561 b) were at 16d to 17d a pound and wethers, at 15jd to 16d a pound. Ewes and New Zealand quarter beef were not quoted.
