VACANCIES—GENERAL THE BROKEN HILL PROPRIETY COMPANY LIMITED STEEL INDUSTRY - COMPUTER PROGRAMMERS THE AUSTRALIAN STEEL INDUSTRY is now entering a third and advanced stage of computer development and it is necessary to expand our staff of Programmers and System Analysts. Many commercial routines such as payrolls, share register, stores/purchasing control have now been programmed and our computer applications are approaching an interesting stage. Our next installation will, of necessity, be a large unit to handle our existing programmes and the very complex work planned for the future. FULL TIME TRAINING: Nine months full time training will be provided and trainees will be expected to obtain a satisfactory pass in each stage of the course. This course will be conducted at Wollongong, New South Wales, and the Company will assist in arranging accommodation. SALARY: GRADUATES: During training Ranges $3200 to $3700 according to qualifications. On completion of of training .. .. $4OOO. Female salaries are 90 per cent of the above rates in each case.
