Champion On Water
yyATER-SKIING is a relatively minor sport in New Zealand but a young Christchurch competitor, V. Bullivant, is by his own performances rapidly pushing it into the forefront. Only 21, Bullivant is progressing into world-class and is now resident in Surfers’ Paradise, where he has travelled to frequently to improve his technique. This year, he returned probably his best performance when he won the South Pacific men’s championship by a margin of 196 points from the Australian, R. Shorland. To accomplish this, Bullivant had to overcome 1 bruised and taped ribs, the result of an injur; only two days before the championships.
