Freight Rates To Bangkok

(NJ. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Dec. 30. Congestion at the port of Bangkok had caused the Dutch Royal Inter-ocean Lines to increase freight rates from. New Zealand to Bangkok by 10 per cent, according to the Auckland agents. The agents said congestion had upset shipping programmes through 1966, and further deterioration was causing regular delays of up to 12 days in obtaining berths.

Congestion surcharges of 15 per cent have already been imposed on trade from the United States and Japan. The New Zealand surcharge would be effective on February 1. BIRTH
