1967 THUNDERBIRD
'THE original “personal” x American car, the Thunderbird, will be available in either two or four-door models in 1967—the first time a four-door Thunderbird has been offered.
Improvements this year include improved upholstery, more instruments, better suspension, tilting steering wheels, and fresh-air ventilation systems. There are several engine options up to 345 b.h.p., and transmission options include the “select shift” transmission which can work automatically or under manual control.
A wide range of safety equipment is fitted, and front disc brakes are standard. The headlights retract when not in use, and seat belt anchorages and retractors are built into the bucket seats.
Options include power seats, windows, radio aerial and boot catch release, air conditioning, stereo tape systems, reclining seats, luxury trim and heavy-duty suspensions.
Chrysler world-wide sales for the first six months of this year were £1,169 million, 28 per cent up on the same period last year.
