Mrs Jacqueline Kennedy has been named by the American people for the fifth year in succession as the most admired woman in the world, the Gallup poll reported yesterday. Mrs Lyndon B. Johnson was again placed second on the list A newcomer to this year's list is Mrs Indira Gandhi, who was third. The Queen was fourth.
The top 10 were:—Mrs Jacqueline Kennedy 1, Mrs Lyndon B. Johnson 2, Mrs Indira Gandhi 3, Queen Elizabeth II 4, Sen. Margaret Chase Smith 5, Mrs George Wallace (Governor-elect of Alabama) 6, Mrs Dwight D. Eisenhower 7, Miss Helen Keller 8, Mme. Chiang Kaishek 9, Pearl S. Buck 10.
A second 10, listed alphabetically, included Princess Grace, Princess Margaret and the Duchess of Windsor.
