No Champagne
(N.Z. Pres* Assn.—Copyright)
LONDON, Dec. 28.
A£s million ship will be launched tomorrow without champagne, flags or speeches because no one is quite sure who owns it.
The launching on the Clyde in Scotland is undoubtedly the strangest in Britain’s long history of shipping. Since the 2300-ton frigate is completed, there’s nothing else to do except launch it
The ship’s mystery lies in London in the Minister of Commonwealth Relations.
The ship complete with helicopter platform and luxury compartments was ordered by the Government of Ghana when Kwame Nkrumah was President
The Commonwealth Ministry guaranteed the builders the £5 million and concedes its responsibility.
