Gun Dog Trials
When the Canterbury Gun Dog Club held its end-of-year trials at Motukarara most of the events were for women handlers. Results were:— Aulsebrook Shield (Combined): R. Payton’s Labrador Beechly’s Faith, 176 points. 1: H. Cox’s Labrador Bill of Shardale, 172, 2; W. Wright’s Irish water spaniel Jack of Weraro and M. Leathern’s Springer spaniel Wendy of Gunstar (equal), 164, 3.
Storey Cup (combined): Mrs Cox’s Labrador Olive of Rimu Domain, 179 points, 1; Mrs Hood’s Labrador Captain Rtnie, 178, 2; Mrs Briden’s Labrador Irangapai Ulysis, 166, 3. Limit (land): Mrs Cox’s Labrador Dan of Landarnls, 90 points, 1; Mrs Wright’s German shorthair pointer Vorstehhund Katie, 83, 2: Mrs Poultort’s Springer spaniel Joe of Pridevilla, 77. 3. Novice (land): Mrs Poulton’s Springer spaniel Caroline Rogue, 87 points, 1: Mrs Leathem’s Springer spaniel Wendy of Gunstar, 84 points, 2; Mrs Streeter’s Labrador Golden Emblem, 81, 3. Puppy (land): Mrs Leathem’s Wendy of Gunstar. 91 pointe, 1; Mrs Poulton’s Caroline Rogue, 82. 2.
