Mr J. K. McAlpine, the former Minister of Transport, has been appointed to the board of directors of Pyne, Gould, Guinness, Ltd. The Rev. M. B. Scanlan has been appointed principal of St. Thomas of Canterbury College at Sockbum, in place of the Rev. J. I. McClintock, who has relinquished the position. Brother Scanlan graduated a bachelor of science in Sydney, and taught for a year in Australia before returning to New Zealand in 1960. For the last six years, he has taught at the Christian Brothers Juniorate at Otahuna.
Mr H. J. Cullen, manager of the Christchurch branch of Mid-Canterbury Transport, Ltd., has been appointed manager of the Wellington branch of All Trans, Ltd. Mr Cullen is a director of Mid-Canter-bury Transport, Ltd., and the son of a former managingdirector, Mr J. B. Cullen. He will remain a director of the firm, with which he has been associated for 'the last 18 years.
