160 At Picnic
The Canterbury branch of the Founders’ Society marked the end of a year’s activities recently by holding a Christmas picnic at the Pleasant Point Domain. About 160 members and friends attended. They were welcomed by the president, Mr L. B. Prendeville. De Larno, the magician, entertained the children and Father Christmas distributed sweets and toys. It was announced at the picnic that Mr A. H. Oakes, a former branch president, had been elected a Dominion vicepresident of the society.
