CHRISTCHURCH READINGS Situation. —A cool showery south-westerly airstream is moving on to New Zealand. Forecast: The Kaikoura coast and Canterbury.—Colder south-westerlies, freshening again during the day; showery in the Alps; elsewhere variable skies with scattered showers. Buller and Westland. —South-westerlies, fresh in exposed areas; changeable and colder, with showers. Marlborough and Nelson.—South-westerlies freshening again during the day; mainly fine but scattered showers developing over the ranges; slightly cooler.
