MR A. J. CHARMAN (left), resident engineer of the Lyttelton Harbour Board, has been appointed by the board to become chief engineer in April of next year to succeed Mr J. A. Cashin, the Engineer-in-Chief, who will retire then. With him is Mr J. B. Bushell, who will become assistant chief engineer.
