Burleson May Not Come
It is unlikely that the American middle distance runner, D. Burleson, will compete in Christchurch this season. In fact, it is unlikely that he will be invited to New Zealand, although he has expressed his desire to compete here. Burleson was only available to tour the Dominion up to December 23, the secretary of the Canterbury Athletic Centre (Mr I. D. Teague) said yesterday. This was a bad time for a meeting and, more important, there was insufficient time to organise one, he said.
