Many Lepers.—There are at least 11 million lepers in the world, of whom fewer than two million are receiving treatment, the World Health Organisation office in Rome has estimated. The organisation’s report said that the disease continued to spread, and in countries of high infection rate, particularly in Asia and Africa, at least a million new cases would appear in the next five years.
