Top Sires In U.K.
Milesian and Ribot, which both have sons at stud in Canterbury, were the most successful sires of two-year-olds in England and Ireland for the 1966 season.
Milesian, which is represented at the stud in Canterbury by Mystery, sired nine winners of 15 two-year-old races. Their earnings were £24,334. Milesian was eighth on the all-aged sires’ list with 34 winners of 44 races and £47,945. Charlottesville, sire of Charlottown, and Psidium, sire of Sodium, were the first two on the sires’ list well clear of the others.
Charlottesville was represented by 13 winners of 19 races and 23 places, worth £109,817. Psidium’s stock earned £107,741. Charlottesville, the 1960 French Derby and Grand Prix de. Paris winner, has had three crops racing. Psidium won the 1961 Derby, and sired Sodium in his first year at the stud. He is a horse with a superb international pedigree. His pedigree contains Pharos and Nogara, but these elements are in different halves of the pedigree and not in their normal combination, as in Nearco.
