Internal Flights
Many more passengers are expected to be handled by the National Airways Corporation in Christchurch during this year’s Christmas holidays than last year’s. From December 22 to 27, the airline will run 190 flights through Christchurch. Forty-three will be special flights, most of them to the North Island.
The busiest day in Christmas week is December 23 when 42 flights will be made. The first will be at 5.55 a.m. and the last will touch down at Christchurch at 1.20 a.m. the next day. There are 16 special flights that day.
On Christmas Eve the first flight will be at 5.55 a.m. and the last at 10.55 p.m. There will be 37 flights that day, including 11 special flights. Of the 3432 seats available for the two days, 2508 had already been booked by November 29.
Christmas Day is relatively quiet with only 21 flights.
