Rental Cars In City
Statistics in the New Zealand Motor Trade Year Book, 1966, show that Christchurch is the most favourably placed city for rental cars, with one to every 659 persons. Auckland has only one to every 1167 persons. Wellington has one to 821 and Dunedin has one car to 883.
Last year the 1827 taxis In New Zealand travelled 94 million miles and fares, estimated at £6 million were collected. Auckland, with 595 taxis, has the largest number. Wellington is next with 298. Christchurch has 263 and Dunedin has 131.
