Then comes the first performance in Christchurch of CARL ORFF'S medieval opera CARMINA BURANA This is a lusty, licentious and lively opera making much use of percussion effects and creating an atmosphere of the tavern and students’ songs, of wandering minstrels and gay abandon. This will be sung by the Royal Christchurch Musical Society and guest soloists Emily Mair, George Metcalfe, and Grant Dickson.
