VIGIL FOR PEACE
N.C.C., Roman Catholics
A combined National Council of Churches and Roman Catholic Bible Vigil for Peace is to be held in the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Barbadoes street, on December 15, at 7.30 p.m. It is hoped that up to 1000 people will attend the hour vigil, which is being organised by the Christchurch Catholic Youth Movement and the youth committee of the National Council of Churches.
The vigil programme is designed to incorporate all Christian denominations, and will include hymns, excerpts from different Popes’ addresses on peace, and Bible readings. The readings will be taken by members of the various denominations attending.
