Feed Wheat Imports

The requests for the import of Australian feed wheat had been modest, the director of the Wheat Research Institute (Mr R. L. Cawley) told the meeting of the Wheat Research Committee at Lincoln yesterday. The senior cereal breeder at the Crop Research Division of the D.S.I.R. (Mr L. G. L. Copp) told the meeting there had also been a request from Southland for the import from Canada of suitable varieties of feed wheats for trial purposes. “This will consist of about two bags of three or four varieties and depends on whether we can get a licence,” he said.
