Whiting To Get Trial

The management of the English League soccer team. Charlton Athletic, has promised to give the 26-year-old New Zealand international goal-keeper, P. L. Whiting, “every chance" to win a place In its team.
Whiting gave up his job as a customs and excise officer in Wellington to come to England for a two-month trial with the second division side. The club's manager. Mr R. Stokoe. said he had received a “very good recommendation” about Whiting. If Whiting wins his place he will be the only international player in the team. He has played 14 times for New Zealand.
