Fruit and vegetables were In good supply and in fair demand at Christchurch produce markets yesterday. Because of heavy supplies, tomatoes were down to between Is and 2s 7d a pound. North Isiland marrows were in good supply and sold well. There were good quantities of cherries from Central Otago. They sold between 19s and 40s a case.
