Year’s Profit £706,000 Imperial Chemical Industries (N.Z.), Ltd., Wellington, will pay an 8 per cent dividend for the year to September 30, as forecast, directors say in a preliminary report. Profit for the year was £706,000, after deducting £123,000 for minority interests, £380,000 for depreciation and £654,000 for tax. No figures have been given for the previous year because they are not comparable, directors add.
Sales for the year were £15,386,000. Earning Rate The latest profit is equal to an earning rate of 13.56 per cent on the paid up capital of £5,206,897. The results include 12 months trading of the subsidiary companies. Fibremakers (N.Z.), Ltd., BALM Paints (N.Z.), Ltd., the Colonial Ammunition Company, Ltd., N.Z. Wallpaper Manufacturers, Ltd., and the Ammunition House, Ltd. These last three companies, with Colonial Ammunition trading for eight months, were the only ones included in the results for the previous year. Then the profit was £446,657, which did not take into account the loss of £103,123 by Fibremakers. The dividend is payable after the annual meeting on February 16, ex January 5. 1.C.1. (N.Z.) became listed after floating 2,162,800 of its 10s shares at 20s to the public late last year.
