CLYDE IND. PROFIT FALL

Consolidated net profit of Clyde Industries, Ltd., engineering and automotive products group, fell by 370,314 dollars, or 21.2 per cent, to 1,377,224 dollars in the year to June 30. Earning rate declines from 23.5 to 18.4 per cent on ordinary capital, after deducting the 60,000 dollars preference charge. In his review with the annual accounts, the chairman (Mr R. E. Purves) says that while the result for the first half of the latest year was comparable with the result for the previous corresponding term, most sections of the group experienced reductions in sales and profits in the second half-year.
