Further Levelling Of Upward Trend
The levelling of the upward trend in trading, evident on Friday, continued yesterday on New Zealand stock exchanges. Moves were mostly narrow. The overseas section gained strength.
New Zealand Refrigerating gained further, adding 9d to 13s 9d—its highest level since August 25. J. Wattie added 3d to 18s and New Zealand Refining was 3d higher at 47s 3d. Andrews and Beaven gained 3d to 41s 6d.
Taranaki Breweries was 3d higher at 10s 3d but two other breweries, New Zealand and Tui, lost Id and 8d respectively. Kaiapoi-Petone traded at 4s 6d, a fall of 3d.
