Otago Shield Team
(N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN. The Otago Plunket Shield team for the first two games of the competition against Canterbury and Wellington, was announced last night by the selectors, Messrs T. F. C. Geary (convener), E. W. Dempster and F. J. Cameron. The only member of the team who has not previously played Plunket Shield cricket is R. V. Webster, the Warwickshire County player who arrived in Dunedin last month.
F. J. Cameron was named as captain, and S. N. McGregor as vice-captain. The team is:—G. D. Beer, F. J. Cameron, R. Hendry (Dunedin), K. Ibadulla (KaiKorai), G. M. Turner (Albion), G. D. Alabaster, J. C. Alabaster (Southland), S. N. McGregor (Grange), B. D. Milburn (Taieri), S. G. MeKnight (Central Otago), R. Hutchison, R. V. Webster (University). The match against Canterbury is on December 24, 26 and 27; and that against Wellington on December 29, 30 and 31. Both matches are in Dunedin.
