New Cabinet Next Week

(From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, Dec. 5. Messrs D. Maclntyre (Hastings). J. B. Gordon (Clutha) and J. H. George (Otago Central) are most favoured to take the three Cabinet positions vacated by Messrs J. J. Eyre. J. K. McAlpine and R. G. Gerard. This is the current opinion in Parliamentary circles following the disclosure by the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) that he has the men in mind for the replacements.

Mr Holyoake said tonight that he does not intend to make a general rearrangement of Cabinet posts at this stage. He believes that if this comes at all it will be after the New Year break. This indicates that only small changes will be made at present. As the GovernorGeneral (Sir Bernard Fergusson) will not return from his present visit to the East Coast until Monday, it is not thought likely that the new ministers will be presented to him before Tuesday next week. It is also believed likely that the present Parliamentary under-secretaries, Messrs R. D. Muldoon (Finance) and L. R. Adams - Schneider (Industries and Commerce and Customs) will be left in their present positions until the major Cabinet rearrangement.
