ITALIAN FLOODS
3 Villages Threatened (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) ROME. Dec. 5. A sea-dyke protecting three villages in the lowlying Po delta region at Rovigo, threatened to give way during the night under battering from new storms in the Adriatic. The villages. Gnocchetta, Santa Giulia and 11 Cantiere, have so far been spared the floods, which twice engulfed other parts of the delta in the last month. The Rovigo Administrator has ordered evacuation of peasants unwilling to leave the upper floors of their houses on the delta island of Donzella. The houses are still under water and many have collapsed.
