AUCKLAND, Dec. 5. A break-through in the Kawerau pulp and paper worker*’ strike appears to have been made. The 450 strikers, all members of the Northern Federation of Woodpulp, Paper and Paper Products Workers, will be told on Wednesday the details of a new agreement worked out at a meeting in Auckland today.

Mr T. E. Skinner, president of the Federation of Labour, who had been asked to intervene by the federation, Tasman Company representatives, and members of the Woodpulp, Paper and Board Manufacturers' Union discussed the dispute for nearly seven hours today. “The talks ended today. It is now up to the men who will meet on Wednesday.” Mr Skinner said later.
