SUVA, December 4. A hurricane this morning destroyed houses and crops in the Yasawa Islands in the north-west of the Fiji group.
First reports say there was extensive damage to houses on the Naviti Islands, but no loss of life.
The hurricane lost force as it swept across the main island of Viti Levu and then lout to sei. ! A warning was issued for 'the whole of Viti Levu as the storm centre approached. At the towns of Lautoka and Ba fallen trees blocked roads.
