‘HONOURING AGE’

Club’s Annual Party The Christchurch Federated Business and Professional Women’s Club held its annual Honouring Age Christmas party at the Lady Wigram Hall on Saturday. About 60 attended. The guests were elderly women who live alone and others from eventide homes. A programme of entertainment included a display by junior pupils of Buckett’s Gymnasium, humorous sketches and choral items by women’s groups, and carolsinging.

Christmas gifts, which formed the decorations on the afternoon-tea tables, were later presented to the guests. A Christmas cake, made by a club member (Miss T. Puschel), was cut by Mrs A. Stone and Miss M. Gadd, both aged 91.
