Speed Limit Criticised

AUCKLAND, Nov. 28
Sir Keith Angas, vicepresident of the Royal Automobile Association of South Australia, today described as “quite absurd” the 55 miles per hour speed limit imposed on the open road in New Zealand. Sir Keith Angas said he had not come across an accident case in which “pure speed" had been proved to be the cause of the accident. He felt that with modern cars, where road conditions and visibility were suitable, speed in itself was not dangerous.
