FEEDING PETS IN AUST.
Annual Cost Of 80 Million
(Special Crspdt. N.Z.P.A.)
SYDNEY, Nov. 29.
Australians spend about 8 dollars (£N.Z.3-4s) a year for every man, woman and child, to feed their pet dogs and cats.
The National Association of Retail Grocers of Australia said the total—Bo million dollars (£N.Z.32m) a year—was more than they spend on detergents, toilet soap, breakfast foods, flour and cake mixes put together. The association said the importance of the pet food total on the cost of living was revealed by a recent market research survey.
